On September 14, 2026, the Supreme Court upheld an injunction and the Post Office regulation will NOT be implemented for this election.  However, in light of ongoing uncertainty concerning postal services, the Bloomfield Township Clerk’s Office is providing Permanent Mail Ballot voters with additional opportunities for receiving their November ballot.

If you would prefer to pick up your ballot rather than have it mailed, your ballot will be available for pick-up in the Clerk’s Office during the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, September 24: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, September 25: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 26: Closed
  • Sunday, September 27: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Monday, September 28: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 29: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 30: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

IMPORTANT: Only YOU can pick up your ballot. You CANNOT pick up someone else's ballot.

You do not need to contact us if you would like your ballot mailed as usual.

On Thursday, October 1, we will mail ballots that have not been picked up or otherwise requested to be held.

If you are unable to pick up your ballot during the timeframe listed above, you may request an extension to have your ballot held at the Clerk’s Office through October 14 at 5:30 p.m.

To request an extension, please contact the Clerk’s Office at (248) 433-7702 or AV@BloomfieldTwpMI.gov.  Instead of mailing your ballot on October 1, we will continue to hold it at our office, and you may pick it up at any time during designated business hours through October 14.

Any ballots that have not been picked up by 5:30 p.m. on October 14 will be mailed the following business day.

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness of elections in Bloomfield Township, we have consolidated to 12 precincts. This change will streamline operations across multiple fronts, ultimately benefitting Bloomfield Township residents.

  • Polling location: Your polling place may have changed.
  • Precinct number: Even if your polling location stayed the same, your precinct number may be different.
  • Voter ID card: If your information changed, you will automatically receive a new voter ID card in the mail. If nothing changed, your current card remains valid.

*Please note: The only change Precinct 12 has experienced is a change in precinct number.

  • Enhance accessibility: By reducing the number of polling locations, we can select the most convenient, accessible, and efficient sites.
  • Improve integrity: Fewer locations allow for stronger oversight and greater election security.
  • Boost service: On Election Day, fewer calls to the Clerk’s Office means faster response times and better assistance for residents.
  • Increase efficiency: Results can be reported more quickly at the end of the night.
