 Regarding
elections, the Clerk advises that you must be 18 years old and
registered 30 days prior to the election to be eligible to
vote. State law requires that a voter's registration address
match the voter's driver's license address. Please FAX the

Absentee Ballots
Those voters who register by mail and have not previously
voted in Michigan must vote in person the first time. The
restriction does not apply to overseas voters, voters who are
handicapped, or voters who are 60 years of age or older.
Absentee ballots are available upon written request if a
registered voter meets one of the following criteria:
- you are 60 years of age or
older
you are unable to attend the
polls without assistance;
you expect to be absent from
your city or township for the entire time the polls are open
on election day;
you are in jail, awaiting
arraignment or trial;
you have been assigned to
work as a precinct inspector in a precinct other than where
you are registered; or
you are unable to attend the
polls because of religious beliefs.
The written request, in any format, may be submitted by
fax, hand delivered or mailed. The deadline for requesting an
absentee ballot which must be mailed is 2:00 PM on the
Saturday preceding the election. On that date, the Clerk's
Office will be open from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM, for the purpose of
issuing absent voter ballots.
