The Bloomfield Township Classic returns to Mercedes-Benz of Bloomfield for its fifth year on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, promising fun and excitement for participants. This year’s show will feature four new attractions:

Sale of official Woodward Dream Cruise merchandise. The Classic Car Show will feature a merchandise tent, the only site selling official Woodward Dream Cruise merchandise between Pontiac and Royal Oak.

Displays of Lawrence Technological University and Michigan State University student automotive projects, including a Formula SAE car and a Nova Drag Car.

Professional photographs of vehicles by “Focus on You Photography”

Live radio broadcast by CBS Radio’s 97.1 from 10:00 AM – noon.

In addition to the new attractions, the Classic will feature a DJ playing 50s and 60s music, convenient parking and food provided by Coldstone and the Marian Dad’s Club. The public is invited to view the Woodward Avenue cruisers from bleacher seating while enjoying the music and refreshments.

There are still spots available for owners of classic and specialty cars to enter their vehicles in the show. Call 248.594.2846 to enter your pre-1972 classic or specialty car or use the online entry form. This year two tax-deductible entry fees are available at $75 and $50. The $75 entry fee comes with an official event shirt. Both entry levels come with the promise of a good time and an excellent vantage point from which to watch the action and mingle with neighbors and car enthusiasts. For those who are members of car clubs, there will be a Car Club display at the adjoining Comerica Bank building, providing a great location from which to watch the cruise and enjoy the food and music. Participants will have easy in and out access all day. The tax-deductible cost is $35 per car.

The Classic, held in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise, is a car show, party and charity event started by a group of Township car enthusiasts looking to involve their neighbors in the largest one-day classic auto event in the world. Net proceeds from the Classic go to support charities right here in the community: The Bloomfield Township Fire Dept. Charities, Oakland Family Services and the Bloomfield Optimists.
