New Board of Trustees Sworn In

The Honorable Kimberly Small, Chief Judge, 48th District Court, officiated at the swearing-in ceremonies for the seven members of Bloomfield Township’s Board of Trustees at the regular meeting of the Board on Monday, November 22, 2004. Bloomfield Township’s auditorium was filled with the friends and family of the Board members. Judge Small began her remarks by noting the members of the Board showed extraordinary levels of commitment, education, experience, passion and integrity. She said, "These elected officials have demonstrated intense commitment to their families and to their community. They will serve the people of Bloomfield Township exceptionally well."

All Board members were elected in the general election in November 2004 and have terms that expire in November 2008. They include:

• Dave Payne, Supervisor
• Dan Devine, Treasurer
• Janet M. Roncelli, Clerk
• Sherry Stefanes, Trustee
• David B. Buckley, Trustee
• Neal J. Barnett, Trustee
• Leo C. Savoie, Trustee

Supervisor Dave Payne was appointed to the position in December 1999, elected in November 2000 and re-elected in November 2004. Janet M. Roncelli was elected as a Trustee in 1996, re-elected in 2000 and then elected Clerk in 2004. Dan Devine was appointed Treasurer in December 1999, elected in November 2000 and re-elected in November 2004. Sherry Stefanes was elected as a Trustee in 1996 and re-elected in 2000 and in 2004. David B. Buckley was appointed to the Board in 2002 and elected to the position in 2004. Neal J. Barnett was appointed to the Board in 2004 and elected in 2004. Leo C. Savoie was elected in 2004.

"Each member of this new Board brings particular expertise and a wide range of experience. We each have our own views on matters concerning the Township, but I know we will work together in a spirit of trust, respect and cooperation," commented Dave Payne.
