The mission of BCTV is to facilitate the production and cablecast of television programs which reflect the interests and activities of the community and inform and enrich the lives of the people in our viewing area.

Bloomfield Township, through Bloomfield Community Television, provides Community Access programming on Comcast cable channel 15 for residents of Bloomfield Township and Bloomfield Hills. Under a contractual agreement with the Birmingham Area Cable Board (BACB), it provides Municipal Access and Government Access programming for Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin.  The BACB's channels are shown on Comcast: 18 and 15, respectively; WOW: 18 and 10; and on AT&T's Uverse, channel 99.

Since its establishment in 1984, Bloomfield Community Television (BCTV) has grown to become one of the premier community television stations in the nation. Its programs focus on the people, places and events that enrich the lives of the residents of Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Hills and neighboring Birmingham area communities.

BCTV now produces more than 600 programs a year. Many of the programs are in a series format and produced in the studio by local residents. The others are produced by local non-profit organizations and document events taking place in and around the community.

Most years BCTV staff sends out a letter to producers, volunteers and friends of the station conveying holiday greetings and providing a brief update on the year’s accomplishments and activities. Click below to read the letters.

BCTV has a highly qualified production staff and a state-of-the-art studio. Its facilities are available for tours and workshops. Volunteer workshops are held regularly to give people the expertise needed to participate in community television. For more information about these workshops, click here. Residents are welcome to bring their program ideas to BCTV and become involved in their production.  To find out how to produce a program, click here.

The Community Bulletin Board, aired periodically throughout the day and overnight, posts community events and local updates.

Comcast and AT&T each hold franchises with Bloomfield Township. Comcast, as required by the local franchise granted originally in 1983, is available to every household in the Township. For service, call 248.855.6971.

AT&T, following a different set of requirements set forth by Michigan's Public Act 480 in 2006, is allowed to select certain areas of the Township as its service areas. The state franchise does not require AT&T to service the entire Township. To see if AT&T service is available at your house, call 800.288.2020 or go to https://uverse1.att.com/launchAMSS.do.

You may purchase DVD or VHS copies ("dubs") of all programs produced at BCTV. Use the following form to submit your request for a dub. Allow five to 10 business days for the dub to be processed. It can be mailed to you or you may pick it up at the studio.
