The Planning Division ensures that the long-range land use planning for the Township follows the
defined goals of the community through review of all development activity. It provides professional administrative staff to the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Design Review Board. Administrative duties include preparation of agendas, coordination of reviews and public notification. Additional staff duties are site development inspection, review of construction permits for zoning ordinance compliance, site plan review, design and sign review and processing of all rezoning and lot split requests.

Zoning Board of Appeals, Site Plan Review and Design Review Board applications are all filed with the Planning Division. Applications for Lot Splits and Rezoning Requests are also submitted initially to the Planning Division.

The Planning Division is located with the Planning, Building & Ordinance Department in the lower level of the Township Hall.

Assistant Planner – Andrea Bibby Central Michigan University – Bachelors of Science Eastern Michigan University – Masters of Urban and Regional Planning Professional Affiliations Member of Michigan Association of Planning The Assistant Planner assists the Planning Director in meeting with property owners, developers and architects to review zoning, land use and development proposals in compliance with Township’s ordinances and policies, and offer assistance on all planning related matters for review by the Design Review Board, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Township Board

Development Coordinator – Robin Carley Michigan State University – Master Citizen Planner Certification Professional Affiliations Member of National Notary Association Member of Professional Women’s Network The Development Coordinator serves as the Township’s primary point of contact for citizens, developers, and architects with regard to their commercial development proposals and coordinates with other Township Departments in reviewing and processing their proposals. The Development Coordinator assists in processing Site Plan Applications, Lot Split Requests, Special Use Permits, Building Permits, and Certificates of Occupancy.
