Sunrise Assisted Living: 6790 Telegraph

A Sunrise Assisted Living facility has been recently constructed on the site of the former Birmingham Farms apartment buildings. This development will closely match the existing Sunrise Assisted Living facility located north of Square Lake Road in regard to floor plans, site amenities, and building design. The thee-story building will house 80 resident units, lobby, parlor, dining rooms, kitchen, lounge, library and other amenities. The new Sunrise Assisted Living facility abuts the Bloomfield Plaza Shopping Center and allows for pedestrian traffic between the two parcels. The building is projected to open in February 2009. 

Target: 2400 Telegraph

The new Target store at Telegraph and Square Lake Roads recently opened its doors for business on October 8, 2008. This unique Target building employs stone, brick and innovative building materials for a stately appearance. Also unique is the two-story construction that will provide for parking beneath the building, shielding customers from inclement weather. The turn-arounds within the Telegraph Road median have also been reconfigured to improve traffic circulation.

Costco Warehouse, directly across the street from Target, demolished its store in May 2008 to make room for a larger Costco on the same site. The new Costco is almost 30,000 square feet larger and provides a wider selection of merchandise. The warehouse now compliments the recently constructed Costco gas station. The layout of the new building provides for over 100 additional parking spaces as well as improves the traffic circulation within the shopping plaza. The Telegraph Road median in front of the new Target and Costco stores will also be re-landscaped. This upgrade in landscaping will coincide with the respective developments as part of the Telegraph Road beautification project. The warehouse opened in November 2008 and is one of their most successful stores in the country.

The Mercedes-Benz dealership on Woodward Avenue has just completed a 1,000 square foot addition to their building. In the process, the façade of the building was revamped to create a sleek, modern appearance. Design elements include cultured stone, painted steel columns and a metal canopy and façade. The new building appearance is part of a national branding technique for Mercedes-Benz.
