TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION OF FIREFIGHTER FOR THE BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Bloomfield Township Fire Department is now accepting applications for its entry-level Firefighter/Paramedic eligibility list. Firefighter duties include fire suppression, emergency medical response, hazardous materials, confined space, public education, and other related duties. Starting salary is $34,500.00, with excellent fringe benefits.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WHEN SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION:

Must be 18 years of age and provide copy of birth certificate

Provide copy of valid driver’s license (if not Michigan; must be capable of acquiring)

Have NO felony convictions

Provide copy of a Fire Science Certificate or a letter from a Fire Science Program Director indicating completion of the core classes of a Fire Science Degree Program

Must provide a copy of Michigan Firefighter II Certificate

Must provide copy of a valid Michigan AEMT License (Paramedic) or National Registry AEMT (Paramedic)

Must have passed both the written and physical agility-testing program offered by the Conference of Western Wayne through Schoolcraft College. Written test scheduled for April 5 and Agility test scheduled for April 26. Information about this testing program is available from Schoolcraft College Assessment Center at 734.462.4806.

Fire Department must receive applications, including all documents requested, by May 5, 2008.

Those qualified may obtain an application on line or in person at 1155 Exeter Road, Bloomfield Township.
