Bike Helmet Medical Information System

Bloomfield Township Fire Department has introduced a medical information system for bicyclists who use the Township’s roads and safety paths. This system, called The Medical Information Carrier System, gives bicyclists a way to carry medical information with them in case they are in an accident or suffer from a medical problem while riding. It incorporates a ¾-inch round, red and white reflective insignia/decal that adheres to the outside of the bicyclist’s helmet. In case of an emergency, emergency personnel will recognize it immediately and know to look inside the helmet for a medical information sheet that is placed inside a plastic carrier envelope and attached to the inside of the helmet. The Medical Information Carrier Systems, which are free for Township residents and $1.00 for non-residents, are available at Fire Station 1.
