PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
Monday, March 6, 2006

I. ATTENDANCE:
PRESENT: Salz, Goldberg, Stefanes, Mintz, Swoboda,
Reisinger, Stark
ABSENT: None
Staff Present: Patricia McCullough, Planning and
Building Director, Robin Carley, Development Coordinator, and
Chris Gruba, Assistant Planner
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The Planning Commission minutes of February 6, 2006 were
accepted as written.
III. PUBLIC HEARING:
A. Consider an Amendment to the Soil Fill Permit Provisions
Ms. McCullough reviewed the proposed amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance regarding soil fill permit provisions. This
item was introduced to the Commissioners on January 16, 2006
and a public hearing was scheduled, with the required
notification in the local newspaper. Ms. McCullough noted that
this amendment would allow the fees to be established and
amended from time to time by resolution of the Township Board
of Trustees. The proposed amendment was reviewed by the
Township Attorney’s office.
Motion was made by Stefanes, seconded by Mintz and was
unanimously supported to forward the proposed ordinance
amendment as written to the Township Board of Trustees, with a
recommendation for approval.

Stark
NAYS: None
IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS:
A. Items Not on the Agenda
The Commissioners submitted their mapping assignment from
the Master Plan Kickoff session held on February 6, 2006 and
discussed current population and housing trends of Bloomfield
Township and how to protect the character of the Township
while planning for future development.
Ms. McCullough provided updates to the Commissioners
regarding the preliminary proposal from Target Corporation for
the proposed construction of a store at the northwest corner
of Telegraph Road and Square Lake Road and the proposed
Bloomfield Park project located on the easterly side of
Telegraph Road, north of Square Lake Road.
V. GENERAL BUSINESS:
A. Next Commission Meeting Date
The Next Planning Commission Meeting was scheduled for
Monday, March 20, 2006.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The Planning Commission Meeting of Monday, March 06, 2006
was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
