PRESENT: Payne, Roncelli, Devine, Stefanes,
Buckley, Barnett, Savoie
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT:
Different scenarios and plans were reviewed to determine
the best capital improvement site plan for Bloomfield Township
as well as providing Echo Park Subdivision with a plan that is
conducive to their requests.
Berms and evergreen plantings were evaluated as possible
screening for the new fire station. Also, architectural ideas
were analyzed to lower the impact to the subdivision and make
the building more appealing.
Supervisor Payne suggested meeting with the Echo Park
Subdivision Association to talk about alternatives that may be
viable for both the Township and the subdivision. Possibly
constructing a building that looks more like a house than an
office building or a combination of architecture and a
park-like setting; provide more density with landscaping.
It was agreed that the best course of action would be to
show the Echo Park Subdivision Association different plans and
get their feedback, as there may be a misconception by the
subdivision of exactly where the fire station will be placed;
they may think it is closer to their entrance than it actually
is.
Currently, when the Township’s fire trucks are dispatched,
they take Andover Road to Long Lake Road to Telegraph Road.
Sirens are not turned on until they reach Long Lake Road. In
terms of moving the station, it will not affect traffic
pattern or noise level.
OTHER ITEMS:
The Board assessed an offer that was made by a homeowner to
purchase their house that is next to fire station #3 for
$230,000.00. It was determined that, at this time, it is not
an essential purchase.
Supervisor Payne brought Board members up-to-date on
Township issues: Target, W. Gray’s house, and Bloomfield Park.
Meeting adjourned at 9:27 a.m.
