Thanks to Township voters, Bloomfield Township Public Library will completely renovate its building and add much-needed space for its exceptional collections and award-winning programs. Begun in August 2005, the three-year project is scheduled for completion in summer 2008 with dedication in October 2008.

There are now two off-site locations for you to return your library materials. The Bloomfield Township Senior Services center, 7273 Wing Lake Road, has two weather-proof drop off boxes. All materials – both books and audio visual materials – may be returned there.

There is a drop off box at Township Hall located between the interior and exterior front doors. The doors are locked after normal business hours. Because of potential damage to materials and their cases, the Township Hall’s book drop can only accept books and magazines. AV materials must still be returned to the library or to the drop off box at BTSS (see above).

The drop boxes will be cleared at least weekly. Once deposited in the drop off box, they can only be recovered at the library - not the Township office or at BTSS.

Items which were overdue when put in the drop-off boxes will have their fines added to the borrower's record and can be taken care of on your next visit to the library itself. Items returned in the book drop are considered returned as of the last regular pick-up date.
