Community Profile
The Charter Township of Bloomfield,
incorporated in 1827, was the first township to be established
in Oakland County, Michigan. Today, it encompasses 25 square
miles and has a population of approximately 42,000. The
natural beauty of the Township, with its winding roads,
rolling hills and tranquil lakes, lends a uniquely attractive
setting to the more than 16,000 homes within its boundaries.
Many of the region's most successful
entrepreneurs and top corporate executives and their families
live in Bloomfield Township. Four public school systems -
primarily Bloomfield Hills and Birmingham, and also Avondale
and Pontiac - serve the Township, as well as several excellent
private and parochial schools. Because 95% of the Township is
residential, municipal services are geared to homeowners and
their needs. Bloomfield Township offers a range and quality of
public services far beyond those of most townships in the
state.
